The President welcomed all present and thanked them for their efforts to attend the meeting. He requested the General Secretary to commence the proceedings by giving out his points.
Points of General Secretary
Item No I. Withdrawal of Appeals by MoD against Orders of AFT on Disability Pension of Soldiers: The General Secretary informed that as per news reports Min of Def announced the withdrawal of 60 Appeals out of 93 filed by it in Hon’ble Supreme Court of India on Disability Pension allowed by AFT for soldiers and also mentioned that the present announcement is general in nature which is just indicative of their intent to file petitions in the Court seeking their leave to withdraw. He said that we should intimate our members about this decision and for this we can put a detailed note in the TSEWA Blog, simultaneously informing our members through bulk SMSs advising them to visit our blog

Item No II. Toll Tax Exemption & Increase of Penury Grant: The General Secretary said that we have received intimation about these decisions. It was decided that the Government Letters on these decisions should be put in blog and all our members should be intimated through bulk SMSs to browse the blog for details.

Item No III. Proposal of Lt Col Radhakrisnan: The general Secretary has mentioned that Lt Col Radhakrishnan has proposed that we should include Wg Cdr Ambrish Agarwal(Retd), a lawyer in AFT (PB) Delhi as counsel of TSEWA in view of his winning record. The Veteran was of the view increasing number of counsels would expedite our cases in AFTs. It was decided that we should request Brig SKS Rana to consider this and take a call on the matter as he is our Single Point of Contact for Advocates.

Item No IV. Programme for Awareness Camp at Jawahar Nagar, Secunderabad on 2nd March 2019: The detailed programme of the Camp was discussed and it was decided that the programme will be kept crisp and short; not exceeding 90 minutes. It was decided that Hony Capt B Joseph will welcome the gathering and conduct the programme and the President and General Secretary will address, while Maj Gen Eswaran Advisor, Central Defence Banking Advisor in SBI would speak about SBI services to ESM Pensioners including CPPC Matters. Cmde Parakala would speak on NCESMO and Charity and Gp Capt CRR Sastry would speak about Legal Cases with special emphasis on benefits for JCO and OR Applicants.

Item No V. Charity in Cumbum Area, Andhra Pradesh: Treasurer said that substantial amount was kept for Charity in Cumbum area but the amount is not expended even as we are in the month of March. Hence the treasurer requested that the matter should be expedited

Item No VI. Expenditure for Awareness Camp at JJ Nagar on 2nd March 2019: It was the estimate of Hony Capt B Joseph that about 500 ESM would attend the Awareness Camp at JJ Nagar on 2nd March 2019 and he proposed that we should host a Tea with snacks to all participants. However, the house felt that since it is pre-lunch programme which is likely to start after 10 am and is likely to continue till 12 noon at least. Therefore, Tea would not be appropriate and a simple lunch would be more welcome. The house approved an expenditure not exceeding Rs 40,000 which includes catering, tent items and publicity.

Item No VII. RTI Application for seeking Data on Pensioners of MOD: The President advised Gp Capt CRR Sastry to file an RTI application with CGDA seeking Data on Salary Bill, Pensions, No of Personnel, average pay and average pension of Military Personnel as well as Civilians in Defence. We should seek the data for last 10 years.
