2. Other Major Events:

a) Awareness Programme in West Bengal & Durgapur on 10 & 11 Feb 2024:

Maj Gen Shib Nath Mukherjee (Retd), President of TSEWA East Zone and West Bengal, offered to conduct awareness programs in Kolkata and Durgapur in Feb 2024, following the success of a similar program held in Kolkata on 08 Jan 2023. The programs were approved and attended by a significant number of participants.

Brig DSC Varma, VSM (Retd), Vice President of TSEWA, along with Col Srikantha Seshadri, President of TSEWA Karnataka, and a subject expert on ECHS, visited Kolkata and Durgapur for awareness programs on 10 and 11 Feb 2024, respectively. They also met with Mrs. Nupur Dutt to assist her with paperwork following the untimely demise of Lt Gen Gautam Dutt.

A dinner was hosted by Mrs. Madhumita Das on 09 Feb 2024, in Kolkata, honoring members of the Defence Services Single Ladies of Officers group (DSSLOG), including three from TSEWA. The event was attended by 12 ladies, including a 90-year-old, who lost her husband in the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

The awareness program in Kolkata on 10 Feb 2024 was attended by 200 participants and covered various topics, including pensions, ECHS, DSSLOG, and SPARSH. Presentations were made by various speakers, and a donation was made by Mrs. Sangamitra Nanavaty, a member of DSSLOG.

The seminar that followed addressed individual problems, with most grievances being resolved on the spot. A similar awareness program was conducted in Durgapur on 11 Feb 2024, with 75 attendees, where grievances were also addressed.

Overall, the events were successful, with new members joining and donations received. Maj Gen SN Mukherjee (Retd) and his team were commended for their hard work, and plans were made for future events, including an AGM in Kolkata in Jun 2025.

b) Awareness Program in Kochi, Kerala on 25 Feb 2024:

Mrs. Heera Krishnan, the Coordinator of Kerala, contacted the speaker in late December 2023 on behalf of the lady members of Services Single Ladies of Kerala. They expressed a desire to have an exclusive interaction with the speaker. After discussing the details, the venue was set for the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Building in Kochi on February 25, 2024. The speaker traveled from Hyderabad to Kochi for the event.

Upon arrival, the speaker was greeted by Mrs. Heera Krishnan and other members. The interaction with the lady members from various districts lasted until the evening. The next day, a training program on various entitlements, such as pensions and OROP, was conducted, attended by 18 ladies and Lt Col Shagir and his wife.

During the program, Mrs. Rajya Lakshmi Iyer shared her experience and highlighted the importance of the Sunday Jio Meet of SSLOG. The speaker also provided information on pension tables and OROP arrears. The program concluded with a discussion on a specific case of overpayment of pension and the speaker’s return journey to Secunderabad on February 26, 2024. Overall, the program was successful, and the speaker was satisfied with the outcome.

c) Annual Financial Support to TSEWA: Funds received to boost up the TSEWA corpus fund to meet the ever-growing demand for finances. Click for Details

3. Conduct of Life Certificate Camp for Pensioners:

a) In February 2024, around 50+ members utilized our Jeevan Praman services at Head Quarters TSEWA.
