Minutes of the Virtual/ Physical Meeting of the TSEWA National Executive Committee held at 1000 Hrs on 10 June 23

The President welcomed all present in the meeting and informed that the General Secretary is out of station for a Tennis Tournament and congratulated him on behalf of the TSEWA NEC for winning the Tournament.
Item No. 1. Minutes of the Last NEC Meeting: The President read out minutes of the last NEC Meeting and explained the progress on each point.
Action: Nil.
Item No. 2. TSEWA AGM: The President intimated that the next AGM shall be conducted at Mumbai on 25 June 23, as decided earlier. Cmde KS Sandhu explained all arrangements being done for the purpose and advertisement of the event with minute details, which the TSEWA NEC appreciated his initiatives in this regard. Further, he advised the dignitaries attending the meeting should avail the facility of Uber/Ola Taxi to reach the venue from Airport/Railway Station, as the bus services may not be suitable.
Action: Nil.
Item No. 3. SPARSH Problems: Cmde KS Sandhu explained that there are number of problems being faced by the Navy pensioners due to careless attitude of Cdr Dhruv Tiwari, Indian Navy Liaison Officer at PCDA Prayagraj. Brig CS Vidyasagar also felt the same about the officer and advised to deal with the JCO in charge in his office who is found to be very helpful in sorting out pension problems of ESM. Cmde Sudheer Parakala has assured the NEC that he shall take up the matter of negligence by the officer with higher authorities.
Action: Nil.
Item No. 4. Elections for the TSEWA Management Committee: Cmde Sudheer Parakala has appreciated the functioning of the Present Committee and suggested for the continuation of the same committee for the next two years. Further, he explained his inability to continue as the President of TSEWA due to various personal reasons as explained by him. The NEC discussed the subject on the following three options:-
- Requested Cmde Sudheer Parakala to continue for two more years, for which he expressed his inability.
- Requested Brig DSC Varma, to consider his appointment as the President of TSEWA. He wanted to observe TSEWA functioning for some more time, before taking over as the President.
- Requested Brig CS Vidyasagar to take over as the President and Brig DSC Varma to be understudy while working as the Vice-President of TSEWA.
After detailed discussion, the subject was put to vote and the TSEWA NEC voted for the third option. Accordingly the NEC requested Brig CS Vidyasagar to accept the proposal, which he accepted.
Further, the NEC appointed Cmde KS Sandhu as Returning Officer of the election to be held on 25 June 23 along with the General Body Meeting.
Action: Cmde KS Sandhu is requested to do the needful.
Item No. 5. Less Family Pension to a widow of 95 Years old: Maj Gen SN Mukherjee has informed that the subject widow, Mother of Mr DR Roy, is not getting her increased pension after 80 years of age etc. Brig CS Vidyasagar suggested to process her documents regarding her date of birth to Record Office through Zilla Sainik Board.
Action: Maj Gen SN Mukherjee is requested to process the case.
Item No. 6. Income Tax on the Amount of Reimbursement of Hospital Admission Charges: Col Srikantha Seshadri informed that, income tax is being levied, on the amount received from ECHS, as reimbursement of Hospital Admission Charges received. He requested Cmde Sudheer Parakala to take a case with higher authorities to exempt this reimbursement amount from the Income Tax.
Action: Cmde Sudheer Parakala is requested to process the case.
There being no other points the meeting was closed at 11:30 AM and decided to hold the next NEC Meetings on 17 June 2023 to discuss and finalize the arrangements for the AGM.
