Mrs P Shakuntala Patnaik, an active, spirited 97 year old, had heard of the good work being done by TSEWA, particularly for families of veterans. She was keen to make a donation for the good cause, in memory of her father, Capt J K Patnaik who served with the Queen Victoria’s Own Sappers and Miners from the early 1900s to around mid 1940s. He saw action during the First World War in Mesopotamia and Basra.
On 08-12-2019, she handed over a cheque for Rs 1 lakh to TSEWA in memory of her father. Present were Brig C S Vidyasagar, Col N Sitaramaiah, Lt Col VSR Ramana Reddy and Lt Col R R Sekhri.
Incidentally, Mrs Shakuntala Patnaik is the mother of Rekha Sekhri, Administrator of the TSEWA blog.
