TSEWA COMES TO RESCUE OF DESTITUTE WIDOW OF SUB MAJ WITH NO PENSION OR ECHS

Tri Services Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association (TSEWA) has been helping many Ex-Servicemen and Civilians who need our support for education, medical care and financial assistance till regular income comes. Sub KV Subba Rao, President, TSEWA Coastal Andhra Pradesh sent a case of widow by name Smt Sarojanamma, aged 70 years, a resident of Eluru, West Godavari Dist of Andhra Pradesh. She is widow of Sub Maj Jala John of Madras Sappers who passed away five years back. Fate was unkind to her as she lost her son aged 25 years one year before death of her husband. She being un-educated did not take any action to get ordinary family pension on death of her husband.

She developed cancerous growth in her stomach and was admitted in Basava Tharakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. She was cured partially and in absence of family pension she used to make idlis, vadas & dosas to earn some money in Eluru.

Her health continued to deteriorate and she was unable to even walk two months back. Smt Pushparajamma, a family friend aged 70 years used to meet her frequently and took pity on Smt Sarojanamma who was all alone. Smt Sarojanamma, widow of Sub Maj suffered paralytic stroke and her left leg and right hand are not functioning. She was admitted in Gandhi Hospital, Musheerabad, Secunderabad on 18 Dec 2017. Scanning was done and doctors there prescribed medicines. Smt Pushparajamma continued to support her friend Smt Sarojanamma. Presently Smt Pushparajamma lives with her son Mr Alexander at Ghatkesar, Hyderabad and provided shelter to Smt Sarojanamma. Now a stage has come even Smt Pushparajamma is unable to help her and desperately wants someone to give financial assistance to continue medical treatment of Smt Sarojanamma.

Col MK Veeramani (Rtd), President, Charity Division of TSEWA and Brig CS Vidyasagar (Rtd), President, TSEWA went to Ghatkesar on the outskirts of Hyderabad at a distance of 40 kms from Secunderabad on 10 Jan 2018 to see whether the case is genuine. Her condition to say the least is miserable. She cannot even walk. She needs immediate financial assistance to go to Gandhi Hospital for review and then to her native place.

TSEWA will ensure she gets immediate financial assistance to go to hospital and then to Eluru. Thereafter TSEWA will take action to get her Ordinary Family Pension and also ECHS membership. TSEWA thanks its donors profusely for their donations because of which we are able to come to rescue of destitutes.
