Minutes of the Virtual/ Physical Meeting of the TSEWA National Executive Committee  held at 1000 Hrs on 12 Nov 2022

The President welcomed all present in the meeting and requested the General Secretary to carry on proceedings.

Item No. 1. Minutes of the Last NEC Meeting:  The General Secretary read out minutes of the last NEC Meeting and explained the progress on each point. Regarding recognition of TSEWA, he informed that TSEWA has not received any letter so far on the subject, but hoped to receive a positive reply from MOD.
Action: Nil.

Item No. 2.  Problems due to SPARSH Migration:   The President informed that SPARSH migration is creating a number of problems to the veterans. However, the Govt has stated  that pension of no veteran will be stopped due to any of these problems. Further, he has suggested all veterans to be careful about fraud messages being sent by fraudsters on the name of SPARSH. They should avoid sharing OTP received by them to unauthorized persons.
The President informed that TSEWA has written to concerned authorities to modify the software of   Jeevan Pramaan through Facial Recognition Method so that it works on Windows Platform and also on all iPhones.
Brig CS Vidyasagar has explained the correct method of submitting the life certificate through Facial Recognition method using a Power Point Presentation.
Cmde KS Sandhu has pointed that there is no provision for Veterans from the Navy who joined Merchant Navy to submit Life Certificate because they keep sailing for 4-6 months at a stretch. He has requested that the matter be taken up with concerned authorities.
WO Thiruchelvam pointed out that he has received different messages on acceptance of life Certificate which are contradictory to each other from various organizations of PCDA/ MOD.
Col CM Unnithan suggested to avail the services of Authorized Banks and Post Offices to generate the life certificate so that there is no ambiguity in submission of the Life Certificate.
Action:  Nil.

Item No. 3. Awareness Camp at Kolkata: Maj Gen SN Mukherjee explained the details of the program and assured that necessary arrangements are being done for smooth conduct of the program on 08 Jan 23, as scheduled. The President suggested that we shall follow the standard procedure for the conduct of the Awareness camp and it shall be open to all veterans whether they are members of TSEWA or not.
Action:  Nil.

Item No. 4. Health Condition of Mahima Sagar:  Brig CS Vidyasagar has informed that his granddaughter Mahima Sagar is improving well and she is able to walk within the room herself without any support. He expressed his gratitude to TSEWA and its members for donating about Rs 75 lacs. NGO Impact Guru is also helping them in a great way in arranging donations for treatment of his granddaughter.
Action:  Nil.

Item No. 5. AFT Case of MSP for Maj Gens: Maj Gen SN Mukherjee wanted to know if there is any progress on the subject case. The President informed that he has spoken to TSEWA Advocate Brig Srivastava on the subject last week. He expressed his regret that there is no progress on any of the AFT cases filed by TSEWA, because of the dysfunctional status of the AFTs. He said that there may be a need to transfer the cases to the High Court if the Govt doesn’t appoint Judicial Members in the AFTs.
Action:  The General Secretary is requested to pursue the cases, as far as possible.

Item No. 6. Agenda Points for TSEWA NEC Meeting: Col CM Unnithan has suggested to circulate agenda points along with the notice for NEC Meeting, which is accepted.
Action:  The General Secretary is requested to do the needful.

Item No. 7. TSEWA Welfare Activity Report: Maj Dr. B Bhikshapathy informed that he has not received the inputs from any of the Frontline Warriors so far and requested them to send their report at the earliest for compilation.
Action:   All Frontline Warriors are requested to send their reports at the earliest.  There being no further points, the meeting was closed at 12:25 PM and decided to hold the next NEC Meeting on 26 Nov 2022.
