Minutes of TSEWA Core Committee Meeting held on 05 June 2019 at Secunderabad

Minutes of Weekly Meeting of the Core Committee of TSEWA at 0900 hrs on 05 June 2019 at 143, Vayupuri, Secunderabad- 500 094

The following attended:

The President welcomed all present and thanked them for their efforts to attend the meeting. He expressed his disappointment about the low attendance and requested the EC members of twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and Core Committee members to spare a few hours on Wednesday to attend this meeting. He requested the General Secretary to commence the proceedings by speaking on his points.

General Secretary’s Points

Item No I. Approval of Agenda for Forthcoming 4th AGM at Dehradun on 07 Jul 2019.  The General Secretary presented the finalised agenda based on discussions in last weekly meeting. The Agenda was considered by the house and passed for issue. The President requested the General Secretary to issue the notice as per the requirements laid down by the Bye Laws of TSEWA.

Treasurer’s Points

Item No II.  Audit of Accounts. The Treasurer said that the Accounts of TSEWA for the FY 2018-19 were finalised and the financial statements were prepared by the Chartered Accountant. The certified statements of accounts will be handed over by the CA shortly.

Item III. Charity case forwarded by WO Thiru Chelvam. Gp Capt CRR Sastry (Retd) mentioned that financial assistance of Rs 25,000/ was approved by Chairman, Charity Div and requested the Treasurer to make the disbursement. Treasurer observed that application from the individual, copy of Aadhar Card and details of bank account for depositing the financial assistance are not available and these documents need to be furnished by the beneficiary. The financial assistance rendered is to be accounted for and documents from the beneficiary are required to be produced before our Chartered Accountant and Income Tax Authorities later. WO Thiru Chelvam, President, TSEWA, Tamilnadu is required to expedite the submission of the documents. A mail has already been sent to him.

Item No IV.  Bhadrachalam Case. Lt Col G Parvathesam (Retd), Treasurer mentioned that he has spoken to the Kumaon Records office and was assured that the case for payment of insurance benefit to the widow is being sent to AGI shortly. On confirmation of this, he said that he will speak to the concerned officer in AGI Dte.

Item No V. Action in OA 3/2018 – BB 3. Gp Capt CRR Sastry (Retd) said that Col RK Tripathi (Retd) has clarified that we have won the case as prayed in OA3/2018. However, the AFT Delhi gave the benefit to Brig MK Ganjoo, the lead petitioner only as his facts were clear on the basis of the representation made by him. In case of others, it was ordered that they should submit individual representations to Service HQs and the respondents should dispose them with speaking order with in 3 months of receipt. The counsel said that only 40 applicants have submitted the representations and one of them Col Choudhury got the relief as prayed. President said that we should make this clear to all applicants who have not submitted the representations and said that Gp Capt CRR Sastry (Retd) is requested to a send a mail to all applicants.

Item No VI. Action in AFT 20 and AFT 21. Col RK Tripathi informed that he did not get the documents and data required to file the cases. He requested for early furnishing of required data and documents so that he can file the OAs in the matter. President said that we should give a final reminder to all applicants to do the needful or file the OAs only in respect of those who submit the data and documents. He requested Gp Capt CRR Sastry (Retd) to write to all petitioners in the matter. We cannot keep waiting for all the petitioners for documents and delay filing the case. We. Need to give a time for the petitioners and if we receive the documents within that time period, we should include them in our case and forward our documents to Col R K Tripathi for filing the case in AFT Dehi.

President’s Points

Item No VII. Volunteering for TSEWA Activities. The President lamented that many members who committed themselves to undertake the activities of TSEWA, have not been able to devote enough time and consequently we do not have any reports about their activities in their respective areas of responsibility. He reiterated that TSEWA can not grow unless we expand our foot print to those areas in which large ESM Population reside and for this we require four to five active members in each state and a senior member should take lead to build the team.  It was decided that this matter should be discussed in the forthcoming AGM.

Item No VIII. Succession Plan for Leadership Roles in TSEWA. The President said that we should commence the exercise for identifying suitable members for important roles like President, General Secretary and Treasurer. Gp Capt CRR Sastry (Retd) felt that since the present committee has its term till June 2021, we can wait for another year and then commence action in this regard.
