Update on Smt Sarojanamma, destitute widow of a Sub Maj of Madras Sappers

As readers will recall, Smt Sarojanamma, aged 70 years, is widow of Sub Maj Jala John of Madras Sappers who passed away five years ago. She being un-educated did not take any action to get ordinary family pension on the death of her husband. She developed cancer and was being treated for this. She is quite ill. As she has no relatives and no source of income, she is being cared for by a generous friend who is finding the financial burden difficult to meet.

Thanks to the painstaking efforts of HFO A Venkata Reddy, Vice President, TSEWA, Smt Jala Sarojanamma has now received arrears of her ordinary family pension of Rs 3,00,096 from CPPC, SBI, Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) for the period Jan 2016 to Dec 2017.

Efforts are on to see that she receives the rest of the arrears due to her as also her regular family pension of around Rs 30,000/- a month.

TSEWA is very grateful to HFO A Venkata Reddy for his humanitarian work of pursuing this case and ensuring that this poor destitute widow has been helped.
