The President welcomed all present and wished every one the New Year of good health and happiness. Thereafter he requested the General Secretary commence the proceedings with his points.

Col Dr GB Sethi (Retd), General Secretary made an exhaustive review of the activities of TSEWA during the Calendar Year 2018 and covered following:-
Members Enrolled: During the year 2,122 members were enrolled and of these Hony Capt Joseph enrolled 1,124 members through his membership drive and awareness campaigns. His efforts were applauded by all present. The membership has grown to 9,705 as on date. It is hoped soon we will surpass 10,000.
Legal Cases: He expressed concern at the slow pace of filing cases and sought some speedy action in the matter.
Awareness Camps: Three Awareness Camps were held in the calendar year. There was no demand from any quarter for awareness camp.
Meetings: Besides regular Weekly meetings, two National Executive (NEC) meetings, third AGM, one meeting for facilitating the founding of National Confederation of Ex-Servicemen Organisations (NCESMO) and Meeting of NCESMO Delegates with hon’ble Raksha Mantri on 27 Nov 2018 took place.
Charitable Acitivities: A sum of Rs 9.34 lakhs was received from donors and Rs 10.97 lakhs was distributed to 51 Beneficiaries in the calendar year 2018. The entire donations of Rs 8.50 lakhs received on account of Capt Vijendra Singh Gurung of Dehradun was transferred into bank account of Uttarakhand Ex-Servicemen Leagure (UESL) as advised by Brig Rajendra Singh Rawat (Retd), President, UESL, Dehradun.
TSEWA Quarterly Newsletter: A Newsletter with matter of topical Interest to members of TSEWA and other ESM was compiled by Gp Capt CRR Sastry (Retd), Joint Secretary and was released in the AGM held in June 2018. The second issue is under compilation and will be released during the National Executive Committee meeting of TSEWA on 06 Jan 2019.
TSEWA Brochure: A Brochure of TSEWA containing useful information on TSEWA was designed and produced in house by Hony Capt B Joseph.
Articles in Fauji India Magazine: Gp Capt CRR Sastry (Retd), Joint Secretary contributed three articles to Fauji India Magazine and they were published in November, December 2018 and January 2019 issues. He was complimented by all present for this.
Untimely Demise of Members: The year 2018 saw untimely demise of two founder Members of TSEWA. Lt Col Abdul Latif Vadakkayil passed away on 20 may 2018 at MIMS Hospital, Kozhikode, Kerala and Col MK Veeramani (Retd), President of Charity Division of TSEWA passed away on 23 Oct 2018 in Apollo Hospital, Secunderabad. Their substantial services for growth and healthy nurturing of TSEWA were remembered.
Succession Plan: It was decided that there should be continuity in the Office Bearers and NEC so that activities of TSEWA are carried out with efficiency and diligence. It was also decided that the present Bye Laws should be studied to see if there is need any amendment to achieve and ensure continuity as well as cohesion.
Agenda for NEC on 06 Jan 2019: The Agenda for the forthcoming NEC on 6th January 2019 was reviewed and no new point was suggested for discussion by the members present.
SOP for Legal Cases: The SOP on legal cases of TSEWA may be reviewed and revised to ensure efficient filing of cases before the AFTs. Gp Capt CRR Sastry (Retd) while agreeing to the substantial delay in filing of the cases attributed it partly to the dysfunctional state of 8 Regional Benches of AFT due to lack of Coram and discouragement of Joint Applications by the Bench. General Secretary also emphasised the need to activate Advocates in Regional Benches to facilitate speedy filing of cases.

Income and Expenditure: The Treasurer informed that the finances of TSEWA are on firm footing as the expenditure is much less than estimated expenditure and we have about Rs 1 lakh for Charity till 31 Mar 2019.
Exemption under Sec 80G of IT Act 1961: The Chartered Accountant is on the job. General Secretary requested Treasurer to impress the CA to hasten the process so that we get the 80(G) benefit for our donors well before 31st March 2019.

Fund for Emergency Charity: He informed that SOP on charity was sent to all Presidents of TSEWA at State, District and Metro levels. Rs One lakh will be kept for Emergency. This was agreed by Treasurer.
Navy Foundation and Veteran Sailors Foundation: There was a proposal to merge Navy Foundation and VSF so that 10,000-member criterion can be met for recognition from Min of Def. Naval Hq was requested to consider the Navy Foundation joining NCESMO.
