Dear Sir,
Charity Division of TSEWA has come to the rescue of two cases of genuine need by providing financial assistance of Rs 25,000. In brief the case are covered in the succeeding paragraphs.
Case 1:
Ms Sandhya, hailing from a poor washermann family, was studying in a high school was being forced to marry when she was just 15 years old by her father, due to pressure from their relatives. She resisted such a child marriage and with the help of Mr Achyutha Rao of Telangana Social Welfare Department, the marriage was stopped by the Police authorities. The father unable to bear the loss of face by the turn of events committed suicide.
The mother is earns Rs 100 per day by washing and ironing clothes. The brother works as a unskilled labourer in a pharmaceutical company in Hyderabad earning Rs 4,000 per month.
This pathetic story was aired by NDTV. Col Nagesh Gupta (Retd), a senior Bombay Sapper veteran in his 90s, settled in USA contacted Tri Services Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association (TSEWA) to help this bright young girl to pursue her studies. He donated Rs 3 lakhs to TSEWA in memory of his wife (late) Smt Madhuri Gupta. TSEWA received the money and put it in a fund known as Madhuri Sewa Fund.
Brig CS Vidyasagar (Retd), President, TSEWA and (late) Col MK Veeramani, President Charity Division visited the family of Ms Sandhya at Brahmanapalli village in Ranga Reddy Dist near Hyderabad. Having seen the condition in which the family lives, checking her mark sheets, the team went and met the Principal of Intermediate college who confirmed she is a bright student.
TSEWA presented her Rs 25,000 as financial assistance from Madhuri Sewa Fund to complete her intermediate studies in Sri NRI College, BN Reddy Nagar, Hyderabad. She joined B.Com in Saketa Degree college, Dilsukhnagar in Hyderabad. Another sum of Rs 25,000 has been given to her today, Wednesday, 05 Dec 2018 to enable her to complete her degree course. Case 2:
Smt Sudha Rajan is wife of Sgt Varadarajan of Indian Air Force. He was working in Air Force Signals Unit in Vadodara, Gujarat 33 years ago. He left his home one day and never returned.
The family comprising of Smt Sudha Rajan and three daughters staying in Hyderabad for education of children, tried hard to locate him but was not successful. The family got some financial assistance from AF Group Insurance and Air Force Wives Welfare Association, New Delhi.
The Unit of IAF due to some reason did not file any missing complaint with the Vadodara Police as he disappeared from his home in Vadodara. Therefore, no action could be taken for processing claim for family pension even 7 years after Sgt Varadarajan went missing. Smt Sudha Rajan has not been getting any pension for the last 33 years.
Smt Sudhar Rajan heard of Tri Services Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association (TSEWA) and approached us for help. Cmde Sudheer Parakala (Retd), President Charity Divison, Lt Col G Parvathesam (Retd) and Hony Capt B Joseph (Retd) went to her house to ascertain her actual condition.
The team of TSEWA was satisfied that Smt Sudha Rajan deserves immediate financial help and TSEWA extended financial assistance of Rs 25,000 to her. TSEWA also will take up her case with IAF authorities to get her family pension.
There are many such ladies of JCOs / OR who suffer in silence as they do not know whom to approach. TSEWA in the past has been successful in getting pension for such ladies in need of help.
TSEWA is thankful to the donors because of whose generosity we are able to help those in penury.
