Minutes of the Virtual/ Physical Meeting of the TSEWA National Executive Committee held at 1000 hrs on 11 Jun 2022

The President welcomed all present in the meeting and requested the General Secretary to commence the proceedings.
Item No. 1. Next AGM of TSEWA: The General Secretary briefed that AGM will be conducted from 1000 hrs on 26 June at AWHO, Ved Vihar Community Hall at Secunderabad followed by lunch at the venue. The President requested all NEC Members attending to intimate their travel plans by 15 June 2022 to facilitate making arrangements. The President requested the General Secretary to call for the MC Meeting on 14/15 Jun, finalise the Agenda and circulate them.
Action: The General Secretary is requested to do the needful.
Item No. 2. NEC Meeting: The President informed that the physical Meeting of NEC Members will be held on 25 Jun, a day prior to the AGM on 26 Jun in the TSEWA Office from 16.30 onwards followed by Dinner. He requested the NEC Members who are unable to travel to Secunderabad for the physical Meeting, to Log-in at that time so that they can participate in the proceedings. He requested the General Secretary and Treasurer to prepare all briefs / notings for approval where necessary.

Item No. 3. Migration of Pensioners to SPARSH System: The problems faced by the Veterans of post-2016 who were migrated to SPARSH were discussed at length. The President informed that a comprehensive letter covering all the issues faced by the Veterans and recommendations was addressed to the PM, RM and FM. It was hoped that due cognizance of the recommendations will be taken by the MOD and all issues rectified before further migration of the Veterans and Family Pensioners. The President also informed that a Live YouTube session organized by MetaMorphes is planned on 19 June and that the President and Brig CS Vidyasagar, Chief Mentor will also be some of the panelists. He informed that the link will be shared soon and requested all NEC Members to give wide publicity to the event so that the problems can be projected by the veterans to the panelists for better understanding.

Item No. 4. Refund of erroneous transfer from UESL: The President welcomed Maj Gen ML Aswal, President of Uttarakhand Ex-Servicemen League to the NEC Meeting. The President informed that subsequent to sad demise of Capt Gurung, the total amount with Interest held in fixed deposit of Rs 8,25,051/- was returned to TSEWA and that the amount was invested in FD for future use of similar case of Late Capt Gurung as approved by the NEC. However, Brig Mukul Bhandari, Senior Vice President of UESL has written to TSEWA that the total amount refunded to TSEWA included a sum of Rs. 1,46,000/- which belonged to UESL. The matter was discussed and NEC approved refund of Rs. 1,46,000/- to UESL.
Action: General Secretary and Treasurer may please do the needful.
Item No. 5. Financial Assistance to WW II Veterans: The President spoke with Brig SKS Rana, VSM on the progress. He informed that an Agreement is being prepared by Jindals to be entered into with TSEWA for disbursement of Financial Assistance to WW II Veterans / Families and that he would try and get it for discussion during the forthcoming NEC Meeting at Secunderabad on 25 Jun 2022.
Action: All Zonal/ State Presidents are requested to note.
Item No. 6. Donation to TSEWA Charity from Madhuri Seva Fund: The General Secretary informed that Col Nagesh Gupta assured a donation of Rs. 1.00 lakh every month towards Financial Assistance to the Students in Final Year Degree. He informed that Col Nagesh Gupta is waiting for deserving cases from all the State Presidents. The matter was discussed and the President requested all the State Presidents to identify suitable deserving candidates and send the documents to the Charity Division.
Action: Chairman Charity Division and All State Presidents to kindly do the needful.
Item No. 7 ACP Case: WO Thiruchelvam enquired about the status of proposed case to be filed in AFT Delhi regarding ACP Case. The President lamented that this case was proposed as a welfare measure for the benefit of Sepoys and affected veterans who retired without any ACP but there were only 10 Sepoys who subscribed to the case. The matter was discussed at length and it was decided to keep the case open for some more time. The President requested all NEC Members to encourage all affected veterans to join the case as this would have substantial increase in their pension and later will benefit the families in the event of the unfortunate demise of the Veteran.

Item No. 8 Legal Brief on Pending AFT Cases: The matter was discussed and Cdr Chandrasekhar was requested by the President to Coordinate with Brig AK Srivastava and Brig SKS Rana, VSM and the General Body may be briefed on the status either by Brig Rana or himself.

Item No. 9. Financial Assistance to Ms. Mahima Sagar: Brig CS Vidyasagar gave a full narrative of the ailment of his granddaughter Mahima Sagar. He became emotional and expressed his gratitude to all the donors who spontaneously responded to the appeal for donations either through Impact Guru Crowd Funding NGO or TSEWA. He said that the entire money of Rs.5.00 crores need not be paid in one lump sum to Roche Pharma. The President briefed that Rs.1.95 crores were raised through Impact Guru and another Rs. 50,00 lakhs approximately were raised through TSEWA Members as on date. Since the treatment may spread over next 4-5 years and all efforts are being made to reduce the cost of treatment in negotiation with Roche, Brig Vidyasagar requested that TSEWA may invest the total donations in a fixed deposit and release the instalments as and when requested by Roche Pharma. The NEC approved the request of Brig Vidyasagar.

There being no further points, the meeting was closed at 12:30 PM. It was decided that the next NEC Meeting will commence around 4.30 pm on 25 Jun 2022 at TSEWA HQ Office and requested outstation Members who are unable to travel to Secunderabad may log-in virtually.
