It is with great sorrow that we inform you that Lt Col Latif Vadakkayil, a founding member of TSEWA, passed away at 1137 hrs on Sunday, 20 May 2018 at Aster MIMS Hospital, Kozhikode (Calicut), surrounded by family and friends. He was a member of the National Executive Committee and President of Pension Div of TSEWA and worked tirelessly for the organisation.
Lt Col Abdul Latif Vadakkayil, M Tech, was from SS – 18 course and joined the Corps of Signals of Indian Army. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Nayeemath Latif, his elder son, Adil Latif, his younger son, Cdr Adnan Latif, Naval Aviation Offr and a daughter Khatija.
Lt Col Latif Vadakkayil devoted his entire time for Ex-Servicemen and Family Pensioners. He worked selflessly for the service of the ESM community. In fact, from February to end of April 2018, unmindful of his own deteriorating health, he was on tour of Kerala and Tamilnadu to solve grievances of Ex-Servicemen and Family Pensioners.
He was a great pillar of strength to TSEWA and its members. He leaves behind an enormous void, which can never be filled.
May the Almighty grant him eternal peace; and to his family and friends, courage and strength to bear this irreparable loss.
