4. Points from Members:

  1. Cmde K S Sandhu, President West Zone stated that there is a dire need for a member to be nominated as President from Pune, since there are large number of defence persons settled there. Similarly someone from Rajasthan should be nominated as President, since no one is presently there now.
  2. Membership Fee: A point was raised by the President regards increase in Membership fee, since it appears to be too meagre, and everyone can now afford to pay more. However, after a lot of deliberation on the subject, it was decided by the members that Status quo be maintained.

I seek legal advice for my ECHS Claim case. I have been writing and following up the case for the last over five years. I had requested for my case to be forwarded and processed at HPC level as per rules which was first accepted to be considered as such, but later declared not justified. I am a super senior ESM of 90 years of age. I spent over Six Lakhs rupees for the treatment of my wife( who expired while under treatment) in a non empanelled hospital. She remained in critical state of health and remained in ICU all these days of hospitalisation and could not be shifted to Service or empanelled hospital. My claim was approved for just about 1/3 rd of the amount spent. I had been requested to consider my case in relaxation of rules and allow full reimbursement of expenses. Now after over five years of reams of correspondence with all concerned authorities that be, I am told that the case is not justified. I wish to fight for my rights legally if required. Please ask your legal team to advise.
