Charitable Activities of TSEWA since Apr 2017

Dear Members of TSEWA,

  1. You will be glad to know that TSEWA thanks to generous member donors gets donations for good causes. TSEWA in turn has been helping a number of deserving cases with financial help. Charity division is established with Col MK Veeramani as its President, with Cmde Sudheer Parakala, Vice President, TSEWA and Capt B Joseph, Joint Secretary as members.
  2. Charity Division has been providing financial assistance whenever deserving cases are brought to their notice. Till now the charitable activities carried out since Jul 2017 are given in the table below:-

1.Ms V Sandhya: 16 year old girl who was forced to marry when she was studying in 10th class. When she refused as she wanted to pursue her studies, her father committed suicide. Her case was brought to our notice by Col Nagesh Gupta from USA and TSEWA provided with financial assistance to pursue her intermediate studies. A brilliant girl who scored more than 95% in her 10th Board examination. She hails from Brahmanapalli vill of Abdullapur (Tehsil) of Ranga Reddy Dist of Telangana. Team TSEWA went and met her, her brother and mother in her village. She was given Rs 15,000 for college fees and Rs 1,800 for college uniform. Her video was posted in YouTube too.Rs 16,800
2.Ms P Aishwarya of Siddipet Dist. She secured Government seat in good engineering college due to her merit. Her story was published in Andhra Jyothi, Telugu Daily. Team TSEWA went to her village 160 kms one way from Secunderabad. Met her parents, checked her documents and found her to be deserving case. She was paid Rs 30,000 to get admission into engineering college and also hostel in Hyderabad. A video was also posted in YouTube.Rs 30,000
3.Ms Snehalatha, daughter of Sri M Sukumar from Jayapuram, Dornakal of Telangana. She suffers from a rare disease and gets her treatment at CMC, Vellore, Tamilnadu. Father is unable to afford her medical treatment. TSEWA thanks to Capt B Joseph came to know about this poor girl. Financial assistance of Rs 5,000 was made to enable her to get her monthly quota of medicines.Rs 5,000
4.Smt Padmavathi of Bhadrachalam Dist of Telangana. She was married to Sep Veeraiah of 17 KUMAON. After availing his leave while returning to his unit, he was found missing. The unit conducted Court of Inquiry after 30 days of absence and declared him as deserter. He was found missing since 14 years. Since the solider is declared as deserter, the wife is not eligible for pension. She has three children and her mother-in-law to support. She works as a farm labourer in tribal district of Bhadrachalam and earns just Rs 300 pm. Hearing charitable activities, her friend told her to contact TSEWA at Secunderbaad. The Charity Division on checking details by visiting her place immediately released first installment of Rs 5,000 and second installment of Rs 25,000. Efforts are being made to get Not Traceable certificate from local police and then process her case for ordinary family pension.

5.Smt Chandrakala of Srikakulam Dist. She suffers from peculiar disease which affects her nervous system. She is bed ridden for the last four years. Her husband is a tailor. Her father supports the family and spend Rs 2 lakhs on her treatment. She was admitted in hospital in Visakhapatnam for three months and later shifted to Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad. She was treated for three months but there was no improvement. A retired doctor from NIMS from Rheumatology Dept advised her to be shifted to Mother Theresa hospital in Hyderabad. Lt Col G Parvathesam, Treasurer during his visit to Srikakulam was informed about his lady. After satisfying the correctness by visiting her place and seeing her pathetic condition recommend her case for financial assistance. TSEWA gave financial assistance of Rs 25,000 for medical treatment of Smt Chandrakala.

Priority be given to meritorious girl children from poor families and those needing financial assistance for medical treatment who cannot afford costly treatment. TSEWA may not be able fund the full studies or medical treatment but partially help them to overcome present problem. The beneficiaries can be from Ex-Servicemen community or Civilians.
